Nearly all Lean improvement within manufacturing starts in the factory operation. In reality a lot of issues that we see in the operation are caused further upstream in the process – the office. Additionally a lot of processes in the ”traditional” office have never been improved. Business process improvement take the first steps towards re-balancing improvement through an end to end approach of key business processes. This is achieved by creating process maps that reveal the issues, wastes and problems with the process. The final steps involve developing countermeasures and an action plan to drive customer value throughout the process.
