Problem Solving
There are two options for using problem solving within Lean management.

1. Firstly, particular issues with no obvious cause may be identified (for example during a value stream mapping event). Clearly, more investigations are required, and a structured problem solving approach is the way to get to the root cause of the problem and identify the right solution(s).

2. Secondly, there may be a particular problem (that is sufficiently defined in scope) which does not require a full intervention. The structured approach will help to resolve this type of problem in an efficient way.
